Most people think, “if I spend time learning about Jesus and Kingdom principals I will be equipped to fend off all the fires of life.” That’s somewhat true, but I can tell you a better way. By spending time with Jesus, to actually know him, and him you, as you invite Him into your home, He will begin to point out all the hazards, the things that will kill you and destroy your home and property before it happens. And if you respond you will avoid the loss and suffering of a fire.
If you want to suffer loss, or not have the benefit of peace, then have that type of relationship with the fire department, sure they will come when the house is burning down, and the insurance company might replace what you lose in the fire, but you could avoid all of that and simply ask the Fire Chief, Jesus, to be your friend, and he will come and spend time with you and make sure you never have a fire and if you do He will be there to put it out.
By spending time with the Fire Chief we become just like Him, because He invests Himself into us and our lives.
